Furono un gruppo di culto degli anni ottanta, in particolar modo negli Stati Uniti d’America, resi celebri soprattutto per le colonne sonore di Rocky (famosissima Eye Of The Tiger in Rocky III, #1 su Billboard per 7 settimane, regalando un Grammy Award alla band). Dave Bickler, Gary Smith e Dennis Johnson completavano la formazione, finché Smith e Johnson non furono sostituito con Stephan Ellis e Marc Droubay.
Altri singoli di successo sono stati Burning Heart (#2 USA, colonna sonora di Rocky IV), The Search Is Over (#4 USA), High On You (#8 USA), Is This Love (#9 USA), I Can’t Hold Back (#13 USA), American Heartbeat (#17 USA) e I’m Always Here (colonna sonora di Baywatch). Altre canzoni usate per colonne sonore sono state The Moment of Truth per Karate Kid - Per vincere domani, Ever since the world began cantata da Jimi Jamison per il film Sorvegliato speciale.
Dopo la reunion con Jamison, quest’ultimo ha lasciato il posto a Robin McAuley, e sono in procinto di registrare un nuovo album.
Attualmente Jim Peterik è il fondatore, chitarrista e compositore dei Pride Of Lions.

La storia del videoclip, intensamente interpretata dall'attore Francesco Montanari (già noto al grande pubblico per il ruolo del Libanese nella serie Romanzo Criminale) racconta uno spaccato di vita di un senzatetto. Attraverso un percorso emotivo di rabbia e solitudine, una volta toccato il fondo, capisce di avere forse un'altra chance per un diverso tipo di vita, per recuperare una vecchia storia d'amore finita male e ridotta a poche righe confuse su una lettera ormai ingiallita dal tempo.
